Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected Cougar 6×6 MRAP

The Cougar 6×6 MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) is a family of armored vehicles designed to provide protection for military personnel against improvised explosive devices (IEDs), roadside bombs, and other threats commonly encountered in conflict zones. These vehicles are typically used by the military for various purposes, including troop transport, medical evacuation, command and control, and more.

The Cougar 6×6 MRAP is manufactured by the American defense contractor, Force Protection, Inc. (now part of General Dynamics Land Systems). It has seen extensive use by the U.S. military in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as by other nations’ armed forces and security agencies.

The Cougar 6×6 MRAP is known for its V-shaped hull design, which helps deflect the blast from underneath the vehicle, reducing the risk of injury to the occupants. These vehicles are heavily armored and equipped with various features to enhance survivability in combat environments.

Please note that my information is current as of January 2022, and there may have been developments or changes in the use and status of the Cougar 6×6 MRAP since that time.
